origami paintings

I have always loved the tactile, manipulative and sometimes unforgiving qualities of paper. These qualities, require an intent – yet allow a freedom to design three dimensional shapes from a two dimensional form.

Using the discipline of origami, I design visually tactile pieces with paper. This work honors the beauty that we see all around, and while it is inspired by nature, it is not solely representational. They are intended to create a feeling... a familiarity that the viewer can connect with.
